As you get older, you begin to notice how many of the things you love get torn down and replaced by something new. You are left with that feeling of melancholy. You are getting older. When something you love gets torn down, it is like a part of you gets torn down with it. Over the years, I can count in my head dozens and dozen of restaurants that I have seen come and go in MBK. The rents are astronomical and there seems to be a nearly constant remodeling of businesses to fit the tastes the Thai youth and tourists. You wish it would stop. You wished that everything looked exactly the same way it did when you first stumbled through on your first trip to Thailand.
Mont Nomsod has existed well before TripAdvisor or Yelp or Food Spotting were even created. There are a couple of branches but the MBK branch is on the second floor and has been around for as long as I can remember.
The premise is simple. Fresh made toast topped with asbolutely delicious custard and all kinds of mouth watering sweet drinks.
The absolute best is toast topped with Coconut Custard. You can find delicious custards on toast all over Thailand but you will not find a better custard than the Coconut Custard at Mont Nomsod.
I hope that Mont Nomsod continues to survive while others come and go and that one day I can take my grand kids here!
